'Photo Society Executive Talks about the Opportunities and Challenges for Visual Storytellers in Today’s Changing Media Landscape' in WOUB Public Media

"Tom Kennedy, Executive Director of the American Society of Media Photographers, is on campus as part of the annual Schuneman Symposium on New Media and Photojournalism sponsored by the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism and the School of Visual Communication.

Kennedy discussed the challenges and opportunities facing professional photographers in a media world where everyone considers himself/herself a photographer and videographer.

Kennedy redefines professional photographers as “visible solution providers” who bring their expertise, artistry and special way of seeing things to visual storytelling.  They provide visual images that have depth, texture and perspective, according to him."
